We aim to provide early intervention and relapse prevention services to empower individuals to recover from, or live better with, mental ill health through the provision of information, support, self-management programmes and peer support.
The Wellbeing Support Team forms part of Community Care services. The Wellbeing Support Team is a partnership model and encompasses staff employed by Perth & Kinross Council and NHS Tayside, who have a diverse range of experience in relation to working with people with mental ill health living in rural communities in Perth and Kinross.

How we can help
The Wellbeing Support Team delivers a wide spectrum of person centred and outcome focussed work with individuals, small groups and the wider community in rural areas across Perth and Kinross, supporting individuals to develop self-management skills and strategies, to enable them to take responsibility for improved mental health and wellbeing.
The Wellbeing Support Team can work with individuals with mental ill health who have been referred to the service, to identify agreed outcomes they wish support to work towards, to support them move forward in their recovery journey. This work can include practical, social and emotional support, and the development of self-help skills to better manage periods of ill health.
The Wellbeing Support Team also deliver a rolling programme of self-management group work planned according to individual and community needs, and this can include work in relation to Mindfulness Based Living; Anxiety Management; Assertiveness Training; Coping with Stress; Communicating with Confidence; Improving Confidence; Wellness Recovery Action Planning; Employability Soft Skills and Relaxation.
The Wellbeing Support Team works in partnership with other areas of service within the NHS; Perth & Kinross Council and other independent sector agencies in the rural localities to provide opportunities to promote social inclusion; improve wellbeing and good physical health; and support access to work and volunteering opportunities. Some of the current services available from such partnership working include supported Health Walks; referral for free or reduced cost access to leisure facilities; soft employment skills training; and supported volunteering opportunities.
One worker within the Team is trained to deliver Dialectic Behavioural Therapy to service users diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, supporting self-management and recovery.
